Process

Dan Futoran will meet with a client personally, if possible, to discuss his/her needs, but most of Dan's projects have been successfully completed with nothing more than a continuous series of e-mails, as well as an occasional phone call. Dan accepts resource materials (product samples, digital photos, product support literature, etc.) via e-mail, YouSendIt.com or Dropbox.com in the preparation of the services to be performed. If Dan is producing an illustration for a client, then he typically will render a series of quality sketches of the client's concept until it is satisfactorily visualized. As the project progresses, Dan will post well organized revisions as low resolution jpegs or comment-enabled pdf e-mail attachments. Similarly, other supported services, such as video production, web design, graphic design, etc., will undergo a careful review process, so that each project can proceed as efficiently as possible.

Since Adobe have integrated non-destructive effects and layer adjustments, as well as layer comps, into recent versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, different versions of illustrations and layouts can be preserved and restored within a single file. Grouping well-named layers into folders promotes efficiency. Dan always renders illustrations and images at a high resolution, so that the resulting product can ultimately be resized for a variety of media and venues. Using Adobe Media Recorder, Dan can output several types of video files that can be viewed on any computer platform or posted on a web page. For some projects it may be necessary to prepare a standard agreement between Dan Futoran and a client. Dan maintains a variety of agreement templates that can easily be prepared, when appropriate.
